Overview
Program Insights gives you a detailed view of registration performance broken down by venue, area of play, or individual program — compared to prior year and your historical best. Use it to identify your strongest and weakest performing locations, spot trends across seasons, and make more informed planning decisions.
Navigate to Program Insights from the left sidebar (under Reports). Select your franchise, set your filters, and click Generate to load results.
Filters & Controls
The filter bar at the top of Program Insights controls what data is displayed. All filters must be set before clicking Generate.
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Franchise | Selects which franchise location to view. Changing the franchise clears any venue filters (venues are season-specific). |
| Group By | How results are grouped: Venue, Area of Play, or Program. This controls which type of card is shown. |
| Year | The season year to view. |
| Season | Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall. |
| Filters | Opens additional filters: Sport, Type (league/camp/etc.), Gender, and Venue. Venue options are loaded based on the selected year and season. |
Generate vs. Regenerate
Click Generate to load results for the first time. After results are loaded, if you change any filters, an info banner will appear letting you know that results are out of date — click Regenerate to apply your new filters.
Summary Panel
Once results are generated, a summary bar appears at the top showing high-level stats for the selected season and filters:
| Stat | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Regs | Total fully-paid registrations across all venues/programs for the selected season and filters |
| VS PY % | How this season's total compares to the same season last year (positive = ahead of prior year) |
| Hist. Rank | Where this season ranks compared to all prior seasons of the same type (e.g., "7th of 20" means 7th best Spring season out of 20 tracked) |
| Season Dates | The start and end dates of the selected season |
Insight Cards (Venue / Area of Play)
When grouped by Venue or Area of Play, each card represents one location. The bar chart compares registration counts and includes two metrics below the chart.
Completed Season
For a season that has already ended, the chart shows:
- Final Total (red bar) — Final fully-paid registrations for this location this season
- PY Final Total (blue bar) — Final total for the same season last year
- Historical Best (orange bar) — The highest registration total ever recorded for this location in any prior season of the same type
In-Progress Season
For a season that is still running, the chart shows current pace vs. prior year and a projected final total:
- Current to Date — Registrations through today
- PY to Date — Registrations through this same calendar date last year
- Historical Best — Highest final registration count for this location at this same point in the season across all prior years
Card Metrics
| Metric | What It Means |
|---|---|
| VS PY % | Percentage change from prior year. Positive means ahead of last year; negative means behind. |
| % Sold PY | For completed seasons: this season's total as a % of last year's total. For in-progress seasons: how far along you are vs. where last year was at this same date. |
Program Cards (Program View)
When Group By is set to Program, the insight cards are replaced with individual program detail cards. Each card shows full details for one specific program:
- Program name, sport, and venue
- Season dates, days of week, and time
- Registration fee
- Registration status breakdown: Paid, Unpaid, Partially Paid, Refunded, Cancelled, Waitlisted
- Teams and Volunteers assigned
Exporting Data
After generating results, the Export button in the filter bar lets you download the current results in your preferred format:
- CSV — Comma-separated values, compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, and most data tools
- XLSX — Native Excel format
Export is only available after at least one Generate has been run. The exported data reflects the filters that were active when Generate was last clicked — not the current filter state if changes have been made since.
Saved Views
Saved Views let you store a named combination of filters so you can quickly return to a view you use often — without having to re-select your franchise, season, group by, and filters every time.
Saving a View
- Set your franchise, group by, year, season, and any additional filters.
- Click Saved Views in the filter bar.
- Click Save current view, enter a name, and confirm.
Applying a Saved View
Click Saved Views and select any saved view from the list. The filters will be applied immediately and the page will regenerate with that view's results.
Managing Saved Views
From the Saved Views panel you can rename or delete any existing view. Saved views are stored per user — your views are not shared with other staff members on the same franchise.
